SPURIOUS NOTES.

GANG OPERATING TN AMERICA

By Telegraph.—Press Assn. —Copyright. Received Dec. 4, 12.5 a.m. New York, Dec. 2. United States secret service men arrested a man, formerly a resident of Los Angeles, having in his possession a bag containing Bank of England noces totalling £93,500. The secret service obtained information through passing £6OOO counterfeit English currency in California. It is understood a counterfeiting gang was manufacturing spurious notes in the United States and intended to circulate them in British Dominions, since the police in England reported that no attempt was made to circulate counterfeits there.
