CLOTH TOO DEAR.

MERCHANTS NOT BUYING. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Dec. 3. 5.5 p.m. London, Dec. 1. Glasgow reports state that wholesale cloth merchants in Londoh are refusing many of the higher prices which manufacturers are asking for the new season’s cloths. The merchants say tailors will not pay the enhanced prices, which manufacturers maintain are necessitated by dearer raw material. Consequently the manufacturers’ travellers are returning to Glasgow without having sold a single piece of cloth.— Aub.N.Z. Cable Assn.
