ELTHAM.

OUTBREAK OF FIRE. (From Our Own Correspondent.) November 29. At 7.30 last evening the fire brigade received a call to attend to a fire in Mr. Crabtree’s seven-seater limousine tling store, opposite the fire station. Mr. Crabtree’s seven-seaten limousine car was housed in the building, and had a narrow escape from being destroyed. The brigade was quickly on the spov, but the fire had obtained a good hold amongst the corks and spirits and it was some little time before th’e brigade could subdue the flames' The car suffered little damage, the paint being scorched and the hood damaged. The fire started in and was confined to a back room, which was gutted. Mr. Crabtree cannot estimate his loss. The building and stock were insured for £l5O. ’ A LORRY CAPSIZES. While proceeding to Eltham from Lowgarth with a load of cheese last evening, Messrs. Gower Bros.’ Ford lorry capsized. It appears that while proceeding down Burke’s Hill the breaks failed, with the result that the lorry gained such impetus that it could not 1 get round one of the bends without ' capsizing. The cheese was slightly damaged, a number of crates being smashed. Mr. Gower, driver of the lorry, es--1 caped injury., but was severely shaken.
