The system of teaching writing by the Harle Giles method has been engaging the attention of the school inspectors of Taranaki who have reported:—AV? do not regard the system as one that should ibe adopted in thia district because: (1) The books available cost 5/- each. (2) The method of letter shaping is not so good a« in the copies now in use and the writing is not continuous. (3) The slope la not that approved by the modern methods of teaching writing. (4),The style of penholding advocated, does not seem to ua ho the moot practical
