It is emphatically declared at White House that President Harding has no thought of asking Congress to modify the Volstead Prohibition Enforcement Act, being determined to enforce the iaw. A reiteration of the President’s attitude followed a statement by Mr. Andrew Mellow (Secretary of the Treasury) that its enforcement was becoming increasingly difficult. —Aus.-N.Z.
