WAITARA.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) Amongst the flowers on exhibition only at the rose show last week was a I pretty arrangement by Mrs. T. Elliot. 1 The green and yellow in the foreground was exceedingly w.ell arranged. Mrs. H. Lepper also had a pretty collection of cut blooms, her bowls being tastefully arnanged. The show wia* exceedingly fortunate in having the services of Mr. R. Lawrence as secretary. Tn the second round of the card tournament for the Garth Cup, held on Wednesday last, the Returned Soldiers’ Association defeated the Legion of Frontiersmen by 28 games to 22. The former will play off with the Civilian Club on Wednesday of this week for the championship. Mr. H. Weston, an old time resident of Waitara. is returning to take up a position with Mr. S. Topliss as manager. Mr. Weston was ever popular and. welcomed as a townsman.
