BUTTER-FAT PRODUCTION. THE PREMIER AT NELSON. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Nelson, Last Night. Mr. Massey addressed a crowded meeting at the Empire Theatre tins evening, and despite a wet night, the. building was packed long before eignt o’clock. Mr. Massey received a splendid hearing from one of the biggest political meetings ever held in Nelaon. The Premier predicted a steady return to better times. Last October, for the first time in eighteen months, the revenue had increased by £440,•000 for tne seven months of the present financial year, and there was a falling off in expenditure of £2,250,000. Returns showed an increase of 40 per cent, in the season’s production of butter-fat compared with last season. A vote of thanks and confidence was declared carried, by the chairman, out there was a big volume of sound both ways.
