NEW SOUTH WALES MATCH. VICTORY FOR AUSTRALIANS. MARGIN OF FIVE WICKETS. By Telegraph.—PrM. Awn.—-Copyright. Received Nov. 27, 7.15 p.mSydney, Nov. 27. The match between A. MacLarena English team and New South Wales was continued to-day in fine, hot weather and on a good wicket. England made 300 in their first innings and New South \\ ales replied with’ 201, and when stumps were drawn on Saturday the Englishmen had lost nine wickets for 117 in their second innings. Two overs sufficed to terminate the Englishmen’s second innings, MacLaren carrying his bat for the top score, which was compiled by sparkling round the wicket play. The innings closed for 121. Collins and Bardsley opened for New South Wales, who required 281 to Win. Gibson broke through the left hander o defence early, and with the board showing 58 Collins put a leg in trout to Tyldesley. Macartney and Andrews became associated, in a valuable partnership, which was not severed till the total had reached 101. Both scored freely all round the wicket, completely collaring the bowling, end although MaeLaren rang the changes, both proceeded merrily wren their mission, the spectators I treated to a dazzling display. Then I Andrews stepped in front of the wicket ! to Calthorpe, and a runs later Maeartj nev pulled Gibson from outside his on j stump into the wicket—four for 181. | Macartney’s total included eight touw land Andrews’ total twelve fours. Both ’ innings Were without blemish, excepting for a couple of uppish strokes by Macartney, which fell out of danger. With 84 to win, Kelleway and Kippax discriminated between good length deliveries and loose ones. Kippax, by Crisp batting, quickly ran to the thirties while Kelleway was satisfied to present a straight bat and move along steadily. At the tea adjournment the score read four wickets for 206. The Englishmen appeared to be tiring as tne I result of the hot and muggy weather ! In the first over on resuming after the tea adjournment Kelleway found the boundary with a straight hit after Chapman at cover had intercepted, several hot drives. Kippax added a single, when he was clean bowled i» endeavoring to glance Gibson. Scanes sent the second ball from Calthorpe to point, but the fieldsman juggled with it for a while and then lost it. The batsmen hit two fours past point and fine leg. «ith six to go Kelleway found the long 0,. boundary off Gibson, and followed with a single to the on. Scanes dispatched the next to the square leg boundary. Winning the match by five wickets and three runs. New South Wales had lost five wickets for 283. Both teams received an ovation from the crowd, numbering five thousand, ovho recognised that New South Wales had a lucky escape from the meritorious ' fight made by the plubky English colts.
