Sydney reports the death of Mt. Dugald Thomson, formerly Minister of Home Affairs in the Federal Government. His Honor Mr. Justice Chapman, accompanied by his associate (Mr. Ken Aitken), arrived in New Plymouth last night and is staying at the Criterion Hotel. Mr. Justice Chapman will preside over the quarterly sessions of the Supreme Cout, which commence at 10.30 this morning. The Rev. 11. B. Gray, owing to illness in the family, has found it necessary' to resign his charge of the Hawera Presbyterian Church. He will be leaving in February next. He has been six years in Hawera. —Star. The death took place at Masterton, on Saturday, of Mr. William Galwey, well known in the Wairarapa district. He was 62 years of age, and for many vears manager of the Masterton branch of the Bank of ■'New South \vales, a position he held from 1900 to 1910. A widow and two grown-up daughters survive him. The death of Bishop Neligan, formerly Anglican Bishop of Auckland, is announced in a cable from London. He was born at Dublin on January 6, 1863, and was educated at Trinity College. As curate and later as vicar the late Bishop Neligan labored mostly in London, and coming to New Zealand he vras consecrated Bishop of Auckland in 1903. He had been in ill-health for some years.
