KLU KLUX KLAN.
OPERATIONS IN AMERICA. STEPS TO CHECK ACTIVITY. / - - By Telegraph.—Press Assn. — Received Nov. 22, 10.5 p.m. New Y’ork, Nov. 22. The New York Herald’s Washington correspondent states the Federal Government’s first movement agaXist the Ku Klux Klan will be the dismissal of all members of the organisation holding offices under Federal warrant, and t<» prevent inter-State activities of the “Klan,” whose centre is the State of Georgia. It is now learned that Governor Parker’s special appeal to President Hording was for aid against “Klansmen,” who moved from State to State committing outrages, but avoiding punishment by not being amenable to the laws of an individual State. It is understood Governor Parker has stated he is able to handle the activities of the “Klan” in Louis* ana, but the laws of extradition are insufficient to enable a successful movement against the “Klansmen” coming in from neighboring Commonwealths.
