AUSTRALIAN FIRES.
EXTENSIVE DAMAGE CAUSED. By Telegraph —Presa Assn.—Copyright. Sydney, Nov. 21. Grass and crop fires are reported 4rom the southern districts to be raging along a 25-mile front. The reflection was seen at Wagga, 70 miles away. Numbers of properties have been laid bare and 20,000 acres have been burnt. Outbreaks are reported from other districts. A dust storm at Broken Hill capsired a sulky, but the occupants escaped injury. The racecourse grandstand wae unroofed and other damage caused. Sydney, Nov. 22. A fire has been raging for some days in Pillage State forest. The damage to timber is already estimated at £lO,OOO. Many wild cattle infesting the forest have been burned. Bush fires are sweeping wide areas of pasturage, crops and fencing in various parts of the State and the damage is heavy.
