THE STRATFORD SHOW.
OPENING DAY TO-MORROW. Always a popular fixture with the general public of Taranaki, the Stratford A. and P. Association’s spring show, which opens to-morrow, promises to be a greater success than ever. No effort has been spared to make the show attractive to all sections of the community. From an agricultural and dairying standpoint the show offers the very best opportunity of seeing Taranaki’s best. Situated in the centre of a rich dairying district, the show aJwgys attracts a wonderful exhibition of all kinds of cattle, but this year the entries. especially in the Jersey classes, have exceeded expectations. New Zealand’s greatest cow, Alcartra Clothilde Pietje, the Friesian with a record that almost equals anything the world has produced, will be on show, and should prove a great attraction. All other classes have filled exceptionally well, and the parade on the second day should be a memorable spectacle. Although the show is primarily an agricultural exhibition, it would be a mistake to suppose that this section alone is catered for. Many and varied arts and crafts will bp strongly represented. and every class of the public will find something of interest in the display, The sportive instinct will be catered for in various competitions, amongst which the horse jumping competitions are always popular.
