AMERICAN ATHLETES.
VISIT TO NEW ZEALAND. ARRANGING DETAILS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Nov. 20. A cable has been received by the council of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association to-day from California. It states that Paddock, tne world’s champion sprinter, with hie team mates, have accepted an invitation to tour New Zealand. They must leave in two weeks’ time. Thompson, the hurdle champion, is unable to make the trip. Wellington. Last Night. The annual meeting of the N.Z.A.A.A. was held to-night. Officers were re-elected, except that Mr. J. W. Heenan replaces Mr. T. W. Leslie, one of Wellington’s delegates. It was decided to hold the next New Zealand championship meeting at Dunedin, the suggested date being some time in February. Regarding the cablegram from America in reference to Paddock, it was decided to cable America asking that if possible Ray or the next best middle distance runner should he sent, the third man to be an all-rounder, preferably Merchant or Hartranft.
