NORTH TARANAKI PLAY. SATURDAY'S MATCHES. The North Taranaki Association matches were continued on Saturday, when the weather was very favorable for cricket. The following were the results:— A GRADE. Old Boys defeated Inglewood. New Plymouth defeated Western Park. High School defeated Urenui. Waitsra, «. bye. B GRADE. New Plymouth defeated Technical College. High School defeated Western Park Rovers. Harbor Works defeated Western Park Wanderers. School 111., a bye. A GRADE. OLD BOYS v. INGLEWOOD. Old Boys met Inglewood, at Inglewood, ana played havoc with the home teaun, declaring for 181 runs with four wickets down. Inglewood responded with 41 in their . first innings and 35 for five wickets in the second. Bottrill and Lash ran ud the total for Old Boys, the former retiring with 104 to his credit, while the latter was not out for 62. In Inglewood’s first innings Bottrill, with seven wickets for 24 runs, and Eggleton with three for .14, shared tlie bowling. Hammerton was the highest scorer for Inglewood in the first innings with 10 runs, and L. Gibson in the second with 13. Details: — INGLEWOOD.
Bowling analysis—Powell, two wickets fftr 68, Coutts none for 50, Evans none for 17, N. Gibson none for 10, Arthur one for 10, Hammenon none for 14, L. Gibson none for 5. WESTERN PARK v. NEW PLYMOUTH. Played nt Western Park, this match provided a few glimpses of interesting erfcKer, Lambert’s innings being particularly good ’•Hh his exhibition of bright,, all-round batting. The game provided a. fairly easy win for New Plymouth, as they disposed of the Park team for 48, Clarke, Newbold and Lambert sharing the bowling honors. Details : WESTERN PARK.

Bowling analysis—Quickfail one wicket for 35, Halley none for 31, Mason two for 35, Dlnniss four for 13, Robertson two for 6. HIGH SCHOOL v. URENUI. Urenui came to New Plymouth to meet the High School first eleven at the school ground, and suffered defeat l2B runs, school running up 187 to the visitors’ 59. Brown took four wickets for 8 runs for school, for whom Mahraj’s 91 runs was a big factor in their total. W. H. Fuller topped the Urenui score with 13 runs, while G. Fuller, with three wickets for 29 runs, had the highest bowling average. Details :

B GRADE. High School 11. defeated Western Park Rovers at the Racecourse by three wickets and 3 runs. -Rovers batted first, making 41 (R. Machu 19), and school responded with 42 (Mackay 8). In the second innings Rovers declared with 6 for ■6O (R. Machu 14, L. Harris 19, and E. Rountree 15 not out), and with 60 runs to get and one hour to play, school made 63 for the loss of seven wickets on the call of time. Bowling for school, Petty- took ten wickets for 29, Griffin three for 14, McLean two for 40, Mackay one for 14. For Rovers, L. Harris took twelve wickets for 33, R. Morrison two for 33, L. Harris one for 1, M. Bullott none for 16, R. Machu none for 12. Harbor Works met Western Park Wanderers nt the Racecourse, and knocked up 26 runs In their first - innings (Papps 9, Cameron 6), Wanderers responding with 58 (Bishop 18). They did better in the second innings with 67 (T. Carey not out 12, Galbraith 9). The Wanderers had three wickets down for 8 when time was called. Scrivener (six wickets for 21), and Bishop (four for 5) shared Wanderers’ bowling honors, while Kinsella six for 24), T. Carey (three for 16) and G. Carey (one for 1) disposed of the wickets for Harbor Works. New Plymouth and Technical College also met at tlie Racecourse, and managed to get in a two innings’ match. New Plymouth batted first, and were disposed of far 30 'runs (Adlani 12 and Morris 9). Loveridge (five for 16), and Hooper (five for 14) took the wickets. The college responded with 21 runs in their first innings and 37 in their second (Dowlands run out 16). Clarke, with four wickets for 2 runs, and Hughes, three for 9 were the best bowlers. New Plymouth made 38 at their second attempt at the wickets (Shepherd 18). Loveridge took five of the wickets.
