LIQUOR AMENDMENT.
PROPOSED AUSTRALIAN ALTERATIONS. By Telegraph.—Press Assn. —Copyright. Sydney, Nov. IS. The Liquor Law Amendment Bill, which is before the Assembly, makes some sweeping changes. (License fees will be fixed at 2 per cent. on the value of the purchases of liquor during the previous year. Brewers’ fees are raised. The changes are expected to give £46,000 increased revenue. Stringent regulations are enacted regarding wine bars, no new licenses for ■which will he allowed to women, and no •women shall be employable therein except the wives and daughters of the licensees. The police are given power to search any persons leaving hotels during prohibited hours, and to confiscate any liquor found upon them.
