LAWN TENNIS.

TARANAKI ASSOCIATION. The following officers have been elected for the ensuing season: President, Mr. C. B. Webster; vice-presidents, Messrs. A. G. Wallace and C. J. Dickie; hon. secretary and treasurer, Mr. K. G. Archer: hon. auditor, Mr. F. Shaw; delegate to N.Z.L.T.A., Mr. E. Salmond. The association has decided to continue the inter-club competitions, which were instituted last season and which proved so popular. The draw has been made, and will be published and also circularised to the various clubs In the course of a few days. Four temms will play In the A grade, seven in the B grade (north section), and five In the south section of the B grade. The competitions will commence on December 2. The annual Taranaki championship and handicap tournament will be played on the Now Plymouth Club’s courts on January 31, February 1,2 and 3, while the annual match against Auckland will take place on the same courts on February 6. Taranaki is to play Wellington at. Wellington this season, but. tho date for this fixture hts not yet been allocated. The association hopes to continue the schools’ championships, and the tournament will probably take place towards the end of February.
