WHEAT CARGOES, By Telegraph.—Press Assi>.—Copyright. Received Nov. 16, 5.5 p.m. London, Nov. 15. Wheat cargoes are in sympathy with American markets, and there is fair inquiry for the Continent at rather better prices. The Australplain’s cargo sold at 52s 4%d. Steamer parcels closed quiet. LONDON TALLOW MARKET. Received Nov. 16, 5.5 p.m. London, Nov. 15. At the tallow sales 1229 casks were offered and 410 sold at late rates, with an occasional decline of 6d. Fine mutton realised 42s 6d a cwt., medium 38s; fine beef 44s 6<J, medium 38s. EXCHANGE RATES. London, Nov. 14. Exchange rates are: Berlin 32,000 marks; Rome, 91 5-8 lire; Paris, 65.55 francs. SYDNEY WOOL SALES. Sydney, Nov. 15. At the wool sales there was renewed keenness in competition for all good sorts, particularly on the part of Japan. The recent decline of 5 to 7% per cent, was recovered. Crossbred was in strong demand at the best rates of the season. Greasy merino sold at 31%d. TARANAKI SALES. Messrs. Newton King, Ltd. report:— At Douglas, on November 6, a fair yarding was fully cleared, prices remaining on a line with recent quotations. Store cows 345, £2 Bs. fat do. £3 19s, £5 15s, yearling heifers £2 18s fid, empty do. £2 15s, £4 6s. springing heifers £5 10s, £7, springing cow £l2 10s, pedigree Jersey bull Tlgns. ft At Stony River on the following day a full yarding of nil classes came forward, the sale, on the whole, proving a good one. A decidedly Improved demand was in evidence for dairy cattle; the market strengthening accordingly. ■ Three-year-old steers £2 19s, £3. store cows 38s, £2, fat do. £4 7s fid, £4 15s, £6, yearling heifers £2 Is, £2 13s, Jersey do. £4 10s, £4 18s fid. empty do. £2 Is, £4 17s fid, springing heifers £5, £6, £7, good quality do. £9 10s, £ll 10s, dairy cows £6, £B, £lO. At Kohuratahl, on the Sth Instant, a fair yarding was offered, and only a moderately contested sale resulted. Hoggets 20s 3d, yearling steers 13s fid, two-year-old do. £2 6s, bullocks £3 Ila, store cows 27s fid, 395, empty heifers £3 Ils, £4, £4 2s fid. At Waiwakaiho, on the same day, both store and dairy cattle were in fair supply. The former sold with plenty of spirit, but the latter declined in value a shade compared with late sales. The yarding, however, lacked quality. We quote: Fat cows £5, store do. 375, forward do. £3 2s, £3 l'7s fid, yearling heifers 38s fid, £2 12s, £3 15s fid, small Jersey do. £5, £5 15s, springing heifers £6 10s, £7 10s. £9, dairy cows £5, £6. On the 10th Inst, we conducted a clearing sale on account of Mr. A. J. Dodunskl, Waitui, and report a most satisfactory disposal. Buyers attended in strong numbers, and the sale was eagerly contested from start to finish. The herd was a mixed one, carrying fair condition and all in milk. Despite this, they averaged out between £9 and £lO, which is excellent considering the time of the year. Other quotations are: Pedigree Friesian bull 20gns, 9-year-old mare £3l, aged do. £l6; implements and sundries sold well.
