To further the interests of the Sports candidate the Stratford Bowling Club gave a very •enjoyable dance in the Parish Hall last night. Vocal items were given by Miss Bessie Sheahan, and Messrs. Walters and Vinsen. Mr. C. Fox played the accompaniments and supplied the music for the dancing. •Tlie refreshments were dispensed by the iadies, under the management of Mrs. G. Smart. This afternoon the Sports’ committee held a garden fete in Victoria Park. Tennis, croquet, and other games and amusements for the young people went to make up a pleasant afternoon. Afternoon tea was dispensed in a large marquee on the grounds. To-morrow (Friday) night the A.S.A. committee will hold a function in the Medina Tearooms, when a first-class musical programme will be submitted. The Sports’ committee will also hold a dance at Strathmore to-morrow night. A FARMER'S DEATH. The death occurred, at the Stratford Hospital to-day of Mr. (I. Mann, of Cardiff. Mr. Mann was admitted to the hospital yesterday suffering from injuries apparently caused by a kick from a horse. He was 64 years of age. The residents of Stratford and district are notified that Ernest Davies, the London qualified sight-testing optician, visits Stratford every Tuesday, and may be consulted at Mr. Gaffaney’s, Broadway.
