MAGISTRATE’S COURT. Mr. A. Mowlem, 8.M.. presided* over the Opunake Court on Monday. Judgment by default was given plaintiff in the following cases: J. P. Burton v. Maria Wharemata, claim .£ll 17s 9d, and costs; Sam Campbell, junr. v. W. Coombes, £1 12s sd, costs 8s; Wm. Crawford v. F. and A. West, £25 ss, costs £3 13s; John McDavitt v. Whiro Batahi, 15s 6d. costs log; Archer Sons and Full on v. G. Pulford. £39 16s 3d, costs £4. Is fid; John McDavitt v. M. Barrett. 7s fid, costs 17s. On judgment, summonses. Afu Ebi was ordered to pay Arnold Bichards £3 9s fid forthwith, in default four days’ gaol; G. Robbins was ordered to pav Hughson’s. Ltd.. £25 4s 2d. in default 21 days’ gaol; Morehu was also ordered to nay Hughson’s. Ltd.. £s'7 15s 19d or go to gaol for 28 days: A. Coffev ordered to pay Hughson’s, Ltd.. £ll 5s Sd; Sidnev Morrison was ordered to pay Washer Bros. £7 14g forthwith, in default seven days. In a defended case. James Wallach v. z W. Tinpins, the plaintiff sued fnr £2 for plumbing work done at Tippins’ farm. Plaintiff claimed he had worked five days at 12s a dav and had been paid £l. He admitted he had agreed to accept £2 8«- for the work, but as defendant did not pRv up promntly. he put in for five days and could, he claimed, have honestly asked for more. Part of the money'having been paid into Court, nlaintiff was "iven judgment for the balance due, 12s Rd, with 12s Court costs. The hearippr of the case of Frank Clements v. F. J. Wilson, a claim for £ll7 8s 8d wages was adjourned until next Court, day.
