ST. ANDREW’S CHURCH.
LADIES’ GUILD SALE. The Ladies’ Guild of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, New Plymouth, held a sale of work in aid of the manse fund in the church school on Saturday, and they are to be congratulated on the many well-laden and artistically-arranged stalls. The sale was opened by the Rev. 0. Blundell, who spoke of the past, efforts of the guild and eulogised their work in connection with the church. Brisk business was done throughout the afternoon and evening, and the stocks of produce, sweets, cakes and useful household articles were speedily reduced. <The enjoyment of the evening sale was materially added to by a musical programme, those contributing being: Songs, Misses Campbell, Stone, White and Mr. R. Cocker; recitations, Misses Godfrey, Eva. N. Beale, Barnden, A. Frethey, and the Rev. 0. Blundell. Two community items by the Bible classes secured an enthusiastic following, and much / laughter was evoked by a parody on “Let the Rest of the World Go By,” ii? which many local hits were scored.* The following were the stallholders: Plain and Fancy Goods.—Mesdames Rea, Morton, Barr, Eva and Cassie.
