STEAMER IN DISTRESS.
BREAK DOWN IN STORM. TUG GOES TO ASSISTANCE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Dunedin, Last Night. The Breeze, which left Lyttelton at' 2. p.m. on Saturday for Dunedin, was seen giving distress signals off Moeraki, 32 miles north of Otago Heads. Engine trouble is believed to be the cause. The vessel to drifting north. The tug Dunedin left Port Chalmers at 4 p.m. to-day to render assistance. The weather is stormy to gale and a south-west wind is blowing, making towing difficult. If the Breeze is in tow she will probalbly arrive at Port Chalmers at midnight or early on Monday inorning.
