AUSTRALIAN GOLD FIND.
RICH PATCH ON CLARENCE. A rich patch of gold has been discovered at Lionsville, on the Upper Clarence, New South Wales, at a depth of 80ft. The discovery was made by two miners, who have been receiving Government aid. A charge of dynamite was laid, and the explosion revealed a magnificent race of gold flakes. The find is a continuation of the old Lion reef, which yielded abundant gold many years ago. Bancroft, one of the lucky miners, has made many discoveries in these regions. He considers that this is the richest patch he has seen.
