BRASS BANDS.

■NEW PLYMOUTH CONTEST. FIFTEEN ENTRIES. Fifteen brass bands, including, two from the South Inland, have been nominated for the contest to be held ftt New Plymouth comir cn-br.g on Monday, February 26, 1923, and continuing throughout that week. It is possible one or two more entries will be received. -Up till yesterday, when nominations closed, the following bands had intimated their intention of coming to New Plymouth:— A Grade. Auckland Artillery Band. Wanganui Queen Alexandra Band. Woolstcn Band. Wellington Artillery Band 1 . Nelson Garricbn Band. Palmerston North Muncipal Band. , Auckland City Band, Gisborne Band. , B Grade. Fourth Battalion Band W.1.R., New Plymouth. Fourth Battalion Band A.IJL, Frankton. Hawera Citizens Band. Hamilton Municipal Band. Stratford Municipal Band. Miramar Band. Feilding Brass Band. All fifteen bands are entered for both the marching competition and the hymn contest.
