NURSERYMEN’S ASSOCIATION
ANNUAL MEETING. The meeting of the New Zealand Association of Nurserymen was held at Stratford on Monday. All members were present excepting two, who sent apologies. Mr. V. €. Davies occupied the chair and welcomed as new members, S. Wall (Staub and Co.) Hawera, and L. L. Reader, Stratford. The balance-sheet showed a substantial credit in hand. The election of officers for 1923 resulted as follows: President, Mr. G. H. Mills (Norman'by); vice-president, Mr. V. C. Davies (New Plymouth); secretary, Mr. W. Pettigrew (New Plymouth) ; auditor, W. F. Morshead (New Plymouth); the officers to be the executive committee. It was unanimously decided to nominate Mr. T. D. Lennie, of Invercargill, as national president for 1923, and Mr. W. T. Benefield (Aramaho) as vice-pre-sident. A number of remits were proposed and passed for consideration at the annual conference to be held in Wellington, opening January 17, 1923. A resolution was carried: “That this council bring before the Government the desirability of 'having a complete botanical survey made of the Egm on t National Park.” This was fully discussed and approved. A sub-commit-tee was set up to go into details and decide what initial steps shall be taken to bring the matter before the public with a view to immediate action being taken. Mr. Geo. A. Green then addressed the meeting briefly explaining the work of the past year. Votes of thanks were passed to the chairman, the executive, the Egmont Club for the use of their board room, also to the national secretary, Mr. Green.
