FIRE IN A SHOP.

DAMAGE TO THE STOCK. A fire was discovered in the shop of Mrs. Westbury (children’s clothing, etc.), Devon Street,' opposite the Presbyterian Church, at 1.20 this morning. When the brigade arrived the fire was burning freely inside, but the outbreak was confined to. the stock, the flames not gripping the building. It appeared that the fire had started amongst some boxes of clothing, spreading to the articles hung about the walls. The outbreak was extinguished quickly, the damage being confined to part of the stock of the shop.
