The three remaining bodies of the victims of Sunday’s harbor fatality have been recovered floating near tne scene of the disaster. PASTORAL ASSOCIATION FIRE. Sydney, Nov. 4. The Equity Court has ordered the distribution of £190,000 at the rate of 6s 8d in the pound in the claims of unsecured creditors and wool owners connected with the Pastoral Finance Association, whose premises were destroyed by fire last November. SECOND PACIFIC CABLE. Sydney, Nov. 3. Mr. R. S. Bain, acting manager for the Pacific Cable Board, has stated that the duplication of the Pacific cable would commence immediately. When completed the Sydney-Auckland cable would bo used for inter-colonial communications, while the line via Southport would be used for international messages. SOUTH AUSTRALIAN POLITICS. Adelaide, Nov. 3. Owing to the resignation of the Treasurer, Mr. Ritchie, to contest the Angas seat as a Liberal, Cabinet has been reconstructed as follows. — Premier and Attorney-General: Sir J. Bar well. Chief Secretary and Minister of Marine: Mr. J. G. Bice. Treasurer and Minister of Railways and Industry: Mr. W. Hague. Commissioner of Crown Lands, Irrigation, Repatriation, Local Government and Town Planning: Mr. G. F. Jenkins. PURCHASE OF NEWSPRINT. Melbourne, Nov. 2. The Country Press conference adopted a resolution recommending the various -State associations to follow the example of the New Zealand Proprietors’ Association in pooling orders for newsprint. ADJUSTING INCOME-TAX. Sydney, Nov. 3. ; In the Legislative Assembly, Mr. : Cocks introduced the Income-Tax Bill, proposing to abolish the super-tax, but making the incidence of taxation Is in the £ lower. The lower incomes would 'benefit, but there would be an increase on incomes of £5OOO to £lO,OOO. He hoped to make an exemption for incomes of £250. SYDNEY HARBOR BRIDGE. Sydney, Nov. 2. The Assembly passed the North Shore Bridge Bill with the assistance of a section of the Labor Party, after strenuous opposition by the Country Party. The Bill provides for levying a special property tax on the districts directly benefited by the bridge when built. I BAWRA EXPANSION. Melbourne, Nov. 3. The Australian Producers’ Co-opera-tive Federation, representing 129,000 farmers, passed a resolution expressing surprise and resentment at the proposal that Bawra should extend its activities beyond the control of wool, pointing out that the existing organisations in Australia and overseas were already handling the main lines of produce.
