HEATHCOTE ADMITS PEOPLE OF U.S.A. FAVOR PROHIBITION. The Rev. W. Heathcote, in reply to n question in the Lyceum, Timaru, stated that 47 out of 48 State Governors spoke in favor of Prohibition, because they were “elected on the Prohibition Ticket, and would lose their jobs if they were not Prohibitionists.” Even “Pussyfoot” could not bring forward a stronger proof of the Popularity and Success of Prohibition in America than this argument from the lips of Rev. Wynham Heathcote. If State Governors would lose their jobs by opposing Prohibition, it shows clearly that Public Opinion in 47 out of 48 States is on the side of Prohibition. The nomination of 182 “Drys” for Congress against 38 “Wets” proves the same thing. Is not the verdict of the American people the best evidence of the success of Prohibition? Read “Pussyfoot” on Rev. Wyndham Heathcote, page 12. Published by arrangement, by the Taranaki Provincial Prohibition League.
