FARM AND DAIRY.

AN ABNORMAL CALF. Writes our Puniho correspondent: Messrs Payne Bros, have a bull calf running on their farm, which in the matter of freaks, is rather unique. The calf is natural in every way except (to put in the words of the -owners) “you can s-ee the little begger grow.” Although only three months old it is now the size of a small yearling, and looks a veritable giant running amongst others, some of which are older than himself. It will drink forty pounds of skim milk at a meal, and will then look for more. The mother is just an ordinary sized Shorthorn-Jersey cow, the father being a pedigree Jersey bull. The calf was born on August 2.
