GERMAN FINANCE.
STABILISATION PROPOSALS VIEW OF TRADE UNIONS. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Nov. 3, 7.40 p.m. Berlin, Nov. 2. The Central Federation of Trade Unions has sent a memorandum to the Government regarding the demands of trade unions for stabilising the currency. The chief proposals are the restriction of currencies, retaining the mark as the medium of pay ment and measure of value. The mark must not be abolished, as it is vital to the interests of the workers and the fate of the German State. In order to support the mark, an internal loan not subject to devaluation and accessible to all classes is necessary. National finance must be reformed, in order that the collection of taxation will be affected at much more frequent intervals. Efforts must be continued to raise a foreign loan and bring about economies and increased production.— Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
