A contest for the professional feather championship of New Zealand was hold to-night between Duke Maddox (Hastings), the holder, and Alf Lewis (Wellington). In addition to the title there was a . purse of £96. The fight, which went the full fifteen rounds, resulted in a decisive win for Maddox, who outpointed his opponent throughout. MATCH IN AMERICA. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Nov. 2, 9.10 p.m. New York, Nov. 2. Mickey Walker (New Jersey) won the welterweight championship, defeating Jack Britton in a fifteen-round bout. Walker showed to decided advantage in every round, Britton taking a count of nine in the twelfth round and being floored repeatedly throughout the fight.
