A MAORI NUISANCE.
POKES FACES AT LADIES. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Nov. 1. A Native, Thomas Andrews, was charged in the Magistrate’s Court with acting in a manner calculated to frighten the public. The police stated that accused had been drinking, and persisted in walking past three ladies, each time making faces at them. He was a married man with thr??» children. Tire magistrate, in flu -g him £5, said he was lucky not to be charged under the Crimes Act instead of t'he by-laws.
