WEDDING.
SMITH—WALLACH. A very .pretty wedding took place at St. Mary’s Church last Monday evening, October 30 when Keitha Ewart, third daughter of Mrs. Wallach, granddaughter of the late Captain and Mrs. Holford, of New Plymouth, was married to Francis Alexander, second son of Mr. and Mrs. D. S. Smith, of Gilmer ton, Edinburgh, -Scotland. The Rev. E. H. Strong officiated. The bride, who was given away by Mr. G. Bowers, looked charming in a beautiful frock of ivory brocaded satin with court train of same material lined with gold tissue, skirt draped on each side with loops of satin lined with gold net tissue, and finished at waist with large gold rose. Angel sleeves of white georgette beaded in white and gold, tulle veil with circlet of* gold leaves, she carried, a posey bouquet of lillies of the valley and gold roses, with streamers of gold ribbon. The bridesmaid (Miss G. Bowles) looked pretty in a frock of white charmeuse with overskirt of white radium lace, black satin hat trimmed with white ospreys. She carried a bouquet of royal blue and white cineraria with streamers to match, and wore a gold wristlet wa’tch, the gift of the bridegroom.
Little Joan Webster made a very dainty flower girl, and wore a frock of pink crepe de chine, pink Dutch mob cap, .posy of pale pink cherry blossom and forget-me-nots. Jackie Weale (nephew of the bride), as a sailor boy,, was the tiny train bearer. Mrs. Wallach, the bride’s mother, ■wore a gown of vieux rose charmante, relieved with black, black hat trimmed with black ostrich feathers, and lined in vieux rose. She carried a bouquet of heliotrope pansies:. Mrs. Weale (sister of the bride) looked very pretty in a frock of shot blue taffetas with blue radium lace sleeves, grey cire cloth hat trimmed with blue ostrich feather, and lined with blue and grey broche satin, and carried a bouquet of red tulips and roses. Dr. Janet Morgan, sister of the bridegroom, wore a smart black costume, embroidered in white, with hat to match.
After the ceremony a reception was hold at Kawaroa Park Bungalow. Mr. and Mrs. I). S. Smith left by motor for Wellington, leaving later by the. Tainui for their future home in Scotland. The bride’s travelling dress was a nigger brown tailored suit, rose pink cire cloth hat, relieved with fawn and blue flowers.
