Foreign exchanges: Paris, 63.05 francs to £l, Berlin 20,400 marks to £l, on further heavy selling. SYDNEY WOOL SALES. Received Nov. 1, 10.10 p.m. Sydney, Nov. 1. At -the wool sales competition for all good classes was keen. Super combing brought 33%d, a season’s record. THE STOCK MARKET. Auckland. Last Night. The following prices ruled at Westfield today : Beef.—-An exceptionally heavy yarding. The demand lasted throughout, and competition was keen, with prices firm at late rates. Ex-tra-choice prime ox £1 5s per 100 lb, choice and prime 21s to 245: good ox beef 18s to 21s, prime young cow and heifer beef £1 to 225, second quality 17s to 20s. Calves.—Average yarding, with prices on a par with last week. Runners £2 10s to £4 10s, heavy vealers £2 10s to £3, medium £1 10s to £2; young and fresh-dropped 4s to 10s. Sheep.—A very small yarding, which sold under very brisk competition, prices being considerably in advance of late rates. Prime heavy woolly wethers 30s to 345; prime heavy shorn wethers £1 14s; medium shorn wethers £2 5s to £1 7s; prime woolly ewes 28s to 30s; prime shorn ewes 26s 1o 28s: medium prime shorn ewes £ 1 5s to £ 1 6s fid; prime shorn hoggets 25s to 26s fid; medium shorn hoggets 21s to 245. Pigs.—Large yarding and competition very keen; prices advanced. Choppers £2 5s to £2 17s; baconers—heavy £3 to £3 9s, medium £2 8s to £2 15s; porkers—heavy up to £3, lighter 38s to £2 10s; stores £1 to I £2; weaners 15s to 225. Spring lambs.—Average yarding, which sold at late quotations. Heavy prime £ 1 9a fid. | medium £1 4s to £1 7s, light £1 to £1 Us 6d.
