ACCOUNTANCY ESSENTIAL. A SPEAKER at a public meeting recently stated that a knowledge of Accountancy was essential to the best re‘ults in business. •There can be no doubt as to the truth of this assertion. Ample proof of it can be found in a study of the proceedings in the Bankruptcy Court from time to time. We often hear the following explaua- 1 tion given by bankrupts:—“l thought I was doing good business, and did not know I was losing ground.” Such a position could never arise if traders had a knowledge of accountancy. It is not necessary that every business man should be a qualified accountant, but he certainly would be better equipped if he had a knowledge of accountancy principles. This knowledge can be easily acquired by taking up a course of study with Banks’ Commercial College. This College has a course in Bookkeeping especially adapted to the requirements of the business man who finds it necessary to keep his own books. Full particulars may be had on application to the local Director at New Plymouth. BANKS COMMERCIAL (JOLLEGE. WELLINGTON, CHRISTCHURCH AND NEW PLYMOUTH. VAL DUFF, Local Director.
