Prohibition meetings have been arranged for Okato, Warea and Rahotu this (Wednesday) evening, and at Koru, Oakura, and Tataraimaka to-morrow night. There will be two speakers at each place, and a collection for expenses. Attention is drawn to the sale of work and produce to be held in the Westown Hall, on Saturday, November 4, in aid of the Anglican Church building fund. Those in charge have been working for some time past, and the result is a large collection of useful garments, offered at reasonable prices. Promises of all sorts of good things have been received for the produce and other stalls, and further donations for these or for the afternoon tea wul be gratefully received. Particulars appear in our advertising columns. The out-of-doors girl will find at Amesbury’s a lovely array of the latest fabrics for summer dresses, just the right weight for picnics, garden parties, tennis, boating, etc. The prices are exceptionally attractive, as witness those mentioned in Amesbury’s advertisement I in this issue.
