FOR FREEDOM.
A FIGHTING PARSON. The Rev. Wyndham Heathcote, B.A. (Oxon.), who will address a public meeting in the Empire Theatre on Friday night, has had a most enthusiastic reception at all the centres’he has visited? Tn Wellington, Auckland, Christchurch, and Dunedin, he had full houses, in many cases numbers being turned away. He has taken the platform on the liquor controversy with a view to combating the Wave of American prohibition which is threatening this country. Mr. Heathcote has lived for some time in the United States ana Canada, and has had personal experience of the calamitous nature of the attempted prohibition law in those countries. As a Britisher he has felt it to be his duty to warn his fellow citizens of New Zealand against the danger now menacing the country. The Rev. Heathcote is a cultured and fluent speaker, quick at repartee, and with that saving gift of humor that is sure to keep his audience thoroughly interested. The meeting will commence at 8 p.m., and His Worship the Mayor will preside.
For over 30 years Sharland’s Vinegar, which is brewed from pure cane sugar, has been used daily in making salads, sauces and pickles, in thousands or homes in practically every city, town and village of the North Island. This is a wonderful tribute to its irreproachable quality
