INGLEWOOD SALES. The bull fair held on Thursday at the Inglewood sale yards of the Farmers’ Co-operative Organisation was not a brilliant success. Apparently tlie requirements of most farmers who desired to secure first class animals for their herds had been satisfied at one or other of the numerous sales of pedigree bulls already held this season in Taranaki. Taking advantage of the gathering of farmers present Mr A. W. Yeates, hon. secretary of the Inglewood Jersey Breeders’ Club, gave a short address, in which he pointed out the advantages to be got by joining the club, which would benefit by being better supported than at present. Members, he said, could notify the secretary when they had pedigree cattle to dispose of, or, if they wanted to purchase any they could get information as to where cattle were to be bought. The prices at the sale were on the whole rather disappointing. Pedigree Jerseys (15 months) made up to 10 guineas, two-years-old 9 guineas, five years 15 guineas. For Frlesians the best price given* was 12 guineas, and for grade bulls 4 guineas. Other bulls sold at what may be termed boner prices. The sale at the Farmers’ Co-op. yards on Wednesday was well attended and the pens were well supplied with stock. Prices realised showed little if any variation in the market, though the majority of lots offered were disposed of.
