DANGER AT RACES.
BIG INCREASE IN FIELDS. SEEKING A SOLUTION. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Oct. 28. Replyng to a question in the Hous< to-day, the Hon. W. D. Stewart said he recognised that racing fields were growing larger every year and were an increasing source of danger, but in that matter the Government had no responsibility. He was advised that the racing authorities could deal with that matter themselves if they cared to. Some clubs endeavored to get over the difficulty by running races in heats, but be was advised this was illegal, because it increased the number of races the law allowed them to run. This matter was now before the Supreme Court as a friendly action, and if the decision of tho Court did not help in the matter he would take steps to curtail the danger.
