TARANAKI LAND BOARD.
THE MONTHLY MEETING. The usual monthly meeting of the Taranaki Land Board was held yesterday. Present: Messrs. H. J. Lowe (chairman), 8. Blake, C. J. Ryan, N. R. Cleland, and J. W. H. Martin. The following applications for land were approved:—Section 8, block L, Pahi. J. H. Melton; section IL, block V., Totoro, G. lE. Julian. The application of E. Scarry for section G, block XL, Mahoe, was adjourned, and that of P. Neustroski P. Zimmerman for section 2, block XV., Mahoe, was refused. The following transfers were approved: 5 and 26, block V., Ngatitnaru, John Aitken to Alice Faul; section 6, block XII., Hawera, O. J. Hawken to J. A. Gulliver; sub. 35 of section I, Ohawe Town Belt, 11. Robinson to J. F. Taylor; lots sa, 5b and 6, of section W., Town Belt of New Plymouth, G. T. Bayly to Osmond le Page (sublease); section F., Town of New Plymouth, W. J. Haldane to R. A. Large; section 4, block VI., Ohura, G. and J. Fraser to G. Fraser; section 6, block XVI., Aria, E. A. M. Gibson to 8. Gibson ; section 5, block IL, Aria, Arthur Smith to H. H. Harrison. The surrender of section 3, block XV., Ngaere, held by B. Dive, was accepted; valuation to be obtained. The reports of the valuer on sections 236 and 237, Huirangi, were received, and it was resolved to offer to the present tenant at the rentals suggested. The ranger’s report on section 3, block V., Ohura, was received, and it was resolved to approve of the proposed subdivision. The reports of the valuer on the renewal of leases over parts sections 564, 565, 590, 591, 817, and the whole of section 822, town of New Plymouth, and also of lot 2B of part section W., New Plymouth town belt, were received. Twenty-one applications under the Discharged Soldiers’. Settlement Acts were considered, and of these two applications to transfer were recommended, one deferred and one refused; six applications for stock were recommended, and two refused; one application for a building grant was deferred, and two refused.
