DEATH FROM INJURIES.
ACCIDENT IN A CREAMERY. Mr. Gerald E. O’Carrol, who was seriously injured at the Stanley Road, creamery on Friday, died at the Stratford hospital yesterday morning. It is reported that, while the machinery was in motion, the deceased was putting a belt on a wh.eel on the overhead shafting and that some portion of his clothing became caught, with the result that he sustained a fractured skull and a badly broken leg. On arrival at the hospital the log was amputated below the right knee, but the injured man's grave condition precluded any great hopes for his recovery, and he died yesterday. Mr. O’Carroll was a son of the late Dr. O’Carroll, of New Plymouth, and was 40 years of age. He was manager of the Stanley Road creamery for several years. Much sympathy will bo felt for his wife and three children, of whom the eldest is onl£ six. An inquest will be held at Stratford to-day, and the funeral will be at New Plymouth to-morrow.
