PUBLIC NOTICES. NEW ZEALAND ROYAL NAVAL RESERVE. JITEN eligible and desirous of joining the New Zealand Royal Naval Reserve should apply in person as follows, where full particulars regarding enrolment, service, etc., can be seen: (a) Seafaring men—At Office of Superintendents of Mercantile Marine at Wellington, Auckland, Christchurch and Dunedin. Otherwise (b) at defence Offices, EXCEPT (c) in Wellington District —at Navy Office. Harcourt’s Buildings, Lambton Quajr. (d) In Auckland District—on board H.M.S. “Philomel.” Ex-Naval men of all branches are eligible for Class A, sea-faring men for Class B. civilians for Class C. Ages for entry in Class A must not exceed 35 in the case of leading rates and below, or 40 in the case of Petty Officer Ages in Classes B and C are:—Seamen and Stoker ratings, 18 to 25; Clerical, Accountant and Sick Berth ratings, 18 to 24; Artificers, Motor Mechanics and Artisans, 21 to 30; Enginemen from steam' trawlers, 22 to 35 years. Enrolment will be for terms of 5 years. Reservists will be required to perform prescribed periods of training on board H.M. Ships, during which they will be accommodated and victualled. Periods vary according to Class of Reserve and rating in which entered. Pay at Naval rates during training; free kit on entry and allowance paid for upkeep; retainer £9 to 12 a year, payable to men in Classes A and "B.
