FOOTBALL.

Memories of the “old-timers” who represented Tukapa on the last occasion (in 1904) when the senior team carried off the provincial football honors, were recalled by a speaker at the club’s annual smoke concert on Thursday evening. One of those old-timers (Dr. E. F. Fookes), who is president of the club, was to have presided at that function, but owing to his unavoidable absence, Mr. E. Jackson (vicepresident) occupied the chair and filled the bill admirably, adding in no small measure to the success of the evening.
