BIG BOMBING ‘PLANET.. By Telegraph.—Press Assn —Copyright. London, Oct. 17. The Air Ministry is planning a gigantic bombing aeroplane, weighing over two ton®, driven by three 1000 horsepower Napier Cub engines. One engine will be placed at the nose and the others on either side, so that if one engine fails the machine will continue steadily. It will carry six to eight tons of bombs with a speed of 100 miles per hour. GLIDING COMPETITIONS London October 17. The Aero Club’s gliding competitions opened on the Downs near Lewes. Raynham remained in the air 11 minutes and Fokker seven minutes with 1 a passenger, and later for 37 minutes i six seconds alone, which is a British record and qualifies for the £lOOO prize for the best flight, with a minimum of 30 minutes. A DIRIGIBLE DESTROYED. New York. October 17. A message from San Antonio. Texas, reports that the dirigible C2, which recently flew across the Continent, caught fire as it was about to make a flight, and was totally destroyed. Three men * were injured
