The following team has been selected to play for Stratford against Kaponga, at Kaponga, on Saturday: L. J. Furrie, F. T. Hale, E. C. Cole, C. McYoUng, W. D. Young, A. H. Richmond, E. M. Beere, R. E. Thomas, W. Redmond, C. Massey, A. Beale; reserve, C. Gatton. Hawera A played Manala on Wednesday. Hawera scored 88 (Horton 25, Worrall 22), and Manala 68 (Hobday 40). Bowling: Worrall four wickets for six runs; Tiddy, two for four; for Manaia, Maunsell, three for eight; Bairstow, four for 20. PLAY IN THE SOUTH. Patea defeated Waverley A on Saturday by 74 to 70. For Patea, Harding and Charteris (13 each) and Campbell (10) were the best batSttien, and Tinney (8 for 27) the most successful bowler. For Waverley, Christensen (not out) 34, Turner (14) and Trltt (10) were the highest scorers, and Watty (4 for 19) and Turner (3 for 22) the best trundlers. Carlyle defeated Waverley B by 214 to 44. The highest scorers for Carlyle were —J. Smith (48$, Mercer (43), Hemingway (not out 34), Owen (not out 26), and for Waverley B, Dabourno (14), and Pepper (11). Mercer and Hoult got the best bowling averages for Carlyle, and DaboUtne for Waverley.
