REBELS BREAK GAOL. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. London Oct. 17. Thirteen Irregulars escaped from S-igo gaol by filing the -bars of small windows and descending by ladders. They made strips out of blankets, climbing the outer wall by means of a plank. They encountered a body of regulars and heavy firing then began throughout the town with the obvious intention of distracting attention while the military -prisoners escaped. RAILWAYMEN ON STRIKE. London, Oct. 17. The Times’ Dublin correspondent says that, as a protest against the reduction of the working week from six to five days the Du'blin employees of the Great Southern and Western Railway Company have struck. All traffic is suspended. and the stations are guarded by National troops. Owing to continued outrages and destruction the company has suspended its Sunday services.
