MOTORING DE LUXE. IMPROVED TAXI SERVICE. Visitors to New Plymouth have frequently commented upon the excellent cars and courteous drivers that ply for hire in and round the town. Many new models, equipped with the latest . devices, have from time to time made their appearance on the stands, and now Mr. Geo. Gibson, of the A.A.R.D. motor service, by the purchase of a new 45 h.p. White ’bus, has gone a step further, so that patrons will now be enabled to explore further afield, and visit the many beautiful and historic spots for which Taranaki is justly famous. At the invitation of the owner, a News representative was taken for a spin yesterday, when the ’bus was put through its initial trials. The beautifully finished body of ivory white sets off the ma.roor cushions and decorative lines to full advantage, while the semieliptical springs of ten leaf strength easily bear the weight of four spacious seats, providing comfortable accommodation for sixteen passengers, and entirely eliminate the disturbing jolting so often encountered in less carefully constructed vehicles. It is the intention of Mr- Gibson to employ the White regularly on the Opunake run, with frequent trips to the mountain and elsewhere as is deemed advisable. Intending passengers will find this means of travelling entirely to their liking, and may at all timh- d??end npen tlia careful and moderate ayivinc for which the 4 a.B,D, Mri’lcc is so wsll known.
