LIBERALS AT TEMUKA. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Timaru, Oct. 14. The election campaign was opened at Tem-uka to-night, when a largely attended meeting was addressed by Messrs. Veitch (Wanganui) and Forbes (Hurunui) in the interests of the Lib-eral-Labor party. Mr. T. H. Langford, a young returned soldier, was officially adopted as the party’s candidate. He addressed the meeting very shortly, pledging himself to the party’s platform. THE THAMES SEAT. Thames, Oct. 14. Mr. A. J. Whiteside, unofficial LiberalLabor candidate for Thames, has retired in favor of Mr. W. A. Allen, the chosen candidate. THE WAITEMATA SEAT Auckland, Oct. 14. Mr. R. F. Way has been chosen by the Labor Parry as its representative to contest the Waitemata seat.
