STIPENDS FOR MINISTERS. By Telegraph.—Press Association Dunedin, Oct. 14. At the Baptist Union Conference the financial statement showed receipts as £2045. The chief item of expenditure ( £1141) was grants to churches. The debit balance under the general account was £159. It was stated that the testimonial to the Rev. M. North would reach £4OO. It was decided that members could join the annuity fund at 55 instead of 60. The Sustentation Fund Committee reported having adopted the scale: Married. ministers £250, married home missionaries £230, single ministers and home missionaries £lBO. Additional grants agreed to were £5 each for children up to three. The Rev. -M. Gray reported regarding the ministerial settlement scheme that only twenty replies were received, eleven churches for and nine against. It was decided to drop the matter At the annual meeting of the Baptist Women’s Missionary Union the treasurer reported that £l2lB has been raised. Officers were elected as follows: —Dominion president, Mrs. W. S. Rollings (Wellington); secretary. Miss Gainsford: treasurer, Mrs. C. Collins; vice-presidents: Auckland, Mrs. Smeeton; Central, Miss Gage; ‘Wellington, Mrs. R. S. Gray; Canterbury, Mrs. Smith; Otago, Miss Ings.
