PLUNKET SOCIETY.

The monthly meeting of the Eltham flunket Society was held yesterday. Present: Mr. G. W. Tayler president) and Mesdames Hawken, Northover, Ford, Thorpe and Drayton. Apologies for absence were received from several members. Thp secretary reported that Nurse Ewart, of Stratford, had commenced work in this district on October 3, and in future will devote Monday and Wednesday in , each week to Eltham.
The nurse’s report for September was as follows: Number of cases on books, 144; number of babies on books, 140; new cases, 3; breast fed, 2; artificially fed, 1; mothers and babies to rooms, 204; visits to homes, 50.
Mesdames McGarry and Goldthorpe joined as non-subscribers.
