THE GENERAL ELECTIONS.
PROBABLE DATE SUGGESTED. FIRST WEEK IN DECEMBER. (By Wire.—Parliamentary Reporter.) Wellington, Last Night. The Prime Minister was asked again in the House to-day for information as to the date of the general election. Members of the House evidently were anxious to know just when the polling would take, place. Mr. Massey replied that he could not state the date at the present time. The date must be determined to some extent by the duration, of the session, and he would be able when the session ended to tell members and the country generally when the election would take place. Mr. T. K. Sidey (Dunedin South): “That is not what you used to say.” Mr. Massey: “It is not what I used to say, but I carry the responsibility now, and that makes a difference." The Prime Minister added that he was aiming at holding the election in the first week of December, but he could not make a definite statement yet.
